One of my dogs was born on a military base (part of a MWD breeding program) and was raised in the kennels within human earshot of the firing range. Whenever the hunters, local Fish & Game club or neighbors start shooting, or fireworks go off, she gets this half sleepy look on her face like it is a lullaby while the other pups bark or hide from the chaos. She is also the most passive, non-confrontational dog.
