What a blast! That locomotive reminds me of the very first ones. I used to read about them when I was very young, and I was impressed by the pictures that I saw of them in children’s books and in the GOLDEN BOOK OF KNOWLEDGE. The one that today’s gag reminds me of was built by Richard Trevithick, and he exhibited it on a circular track in London around 1808, charging admission to spectators so they could come inside a high fence around the track. (After Jack the Giant-Killer, Richard was the most famous Cornish man ever).
