Patricia, Lawrence, John and Paul,
Please accept our sincere apology. We’ll be more careful in the future. Paul’s idea of “the liver of a drunkard” would have been a much better choice!
Thank you and we’re sorry!
Lawrence Lederer
My grand parents came over to our country from Ireland. Being of Irish decent I find a shot at the Irish amusing if not even a little funny.
I am Irish-American. This is defamation and it is not appreciated at all.
Paul Thayer
I’m Irish-American (in part), and there are probably five (5 ) generations of alcoholics on my father’s side, going back to a great-grandfather (at least), and descending to one of my nephews and the son of one of my cousins. That being said, if you re-use this gag, please give the Wizard’s monster “a drunkard’s liver”.
Patricia
This strip is insensitive and offensive.

Angus seems to have been channeling either W. C. Fields or Groucho Marx, but probably W. C., although I know that actor only from quips and quotes.
Incredibly demeaning to the Irish!

If I were Irish, I might resemble that remark.
